The Story
Across shifting dimensions of space and time, a collection of enigmatic extraterrestrials hear bewitching sounds coming from a small blue planet. Specifically the county of Donegal in the north of Ireland, drawn by the hypnotic resonance of the monks chanting, they become mesmerised—capturing, imitating, and gradually transforming the sound. What begins as simple mimicry becomes something else entirely: a layered, evolving echo that bends reality itself. As their interpretations compound over time, the boundary between origin and imitation dissolves, creating a haunting, otherworldly chorus that transcends both culture and cosmos.
Imagine, if you will… a sound. Ancient. Human. Sacred. Now imagine it heard by something that does not belong to time—or to this world. They listen. They learn. They repeat. But with each echo, something changes. The chant deepens… distorts… becomes something new. Because somewhere between imitation and understanding lies a place where meaning dissolves—and reality follows.
You’re traveling through a dimension not only of sound, but of transformation… You are in Donegal.
They travelled far through space and time, brought knowledge, wisdom and anal probes.
They became intoxicated by the sounds of the chanting, lilting monks, copying them and adapting what they heard over time and space, they bring it all home.
Brothers Gerald, Eamon, Patrick and Duane (l-r). Resident monks of Donegal, the original chanters?
Some folk say they've always been there. Being a silent order, they had 'no comment.'
